Subway stories

Had a great weekend with a bit of relaxing and a trip down to the Royal Ontario Museum with my girlfriend. The renovations look great, both to ROM and the subway stop below it. The exhibit currently running on Charles Darwin was quite interesting. Loads of artifacts and information from his voyages, and even a reproduction of his study where he’d do analysis and writing. Lots to see, but too much for one trip I’m afraid. We did manage to squeeze in dinosaurs, birds, and the bat cave among other things. Probably heading back tomorrow for another go since we didn’t even cover half of it in the first visit.

Finished up with my last final of the semester this afternoon, so summer break starts now I suppose. Got a couple odd looks on the subway today, although not too surprising since I was laughing to myself. It’s a bit hard to control as I was listing to The Ricky Gervais Show podcasts. Ricky Gervais, along with Stephen Merchant who is also a voice behind the podcasts, were responsible for The Office and Extras, which are two very funny British sitcoms done in recent years. Needless to say, the podcasts are quite hilarious, and I would strongly recommend giving them a listen (credit to my girlfriend for introducing me to them).

When I got off the subway on my way home there were a couple small dogs (or puppies as I’m not too sure of the breed) on the platform. I noticed a man sitting on a nearby bench holding another two with a couple more at his feet. He also had with him a stroller, and wouldn’t you know, instead of a baby he had more dogs. I counted at least ten dogs in the lot, and I can only wonder what he was doing with all of them in the subway station. I suspect he does like dogs quite a bit though.
